Home Front Hearts Brings Holiday Joy to Military Families in Florida
Through the generosity of the Community Foundation of Jacksonville and Home Front Heart’s network of supporters, Home Front Hearts brought holiday assistance to hundreds of military families stationed in the North Florida area in December 2010. Home Front Hearts volunteers, the Navy Wives Club of Pensacola, Fleet and Family Support in Jacksonville, and the Florida Guard partnered to locate families in need. Home Front Hearts matched donors with families and ensured the needs of these military families were met.
Through this effort, we were able to provide:
• In-depth assistance to 4 military families in the Jacksonville, FL area
• Distribution of gifts for Corry Station’s Military Family Angel Tree
• Distribution of gifts and winter wear to the children at Corry Station’s Child Development Center
• Distribution of food, gifts, and winter wear to the USO onboard NAS Pensacola
• Distribution of gifts and winter wear to Navy-Marine Corps Relief Society to aid the families they serve
• Distribution of winter wear, food items, and gifts to the USO at the Pensacola Airport in support of our service members and their families who were traveling during the holidays
• Distribution of hygiene items and winter wear to Naval Hospital – NAS Pensacola and the Veterans Hospital in Pensacola
• Distribution of gifts to military families stationed at Corry Station and NAS Pensacola
We were honored to lead this large movement of support for our fellow military families in North Florida. Thank you to all of our partners, donors, and supporters.
